If a participant gets injured in your class, and they get medical attention or therapy, you are placed in 2 possible scenarios:

1. If the participant doesn’t have health insurance, they may react to hefty bills by going after you or the place the class took place. If a client files a claim against you, are you willing to pay for the claim out of your own pocket? Group Fitness Liability Insurance covers such claims so you don’t have to.
2. If the participant has health insurance, there’s a chance it won’t cover everything. But let’s assume most people have insurance that covers enough that the client is satisfied. The problem is that injuries that appear to be from activity where blame could be placed on another party will be flagged at the health insurance company. The insurance company is likely to conduct an investigation and try to place the blame for the injury elsewhere so they don’t have to pay. They will contact the participant and pressure them to discuss how they got hurt. This may result in a demand for you to cover the medical costs.

Yes. Your policy will follow you wherever you go, as long as you are operating as a personal trainer.

No. You only need to list the gym/facilities that asked you to name them as an additional insured. Check your contracts.

On the application, you will be able to list the locations where you train your clients.

Yes, your coverage will follow wherever you go within the US and US Territories. Worldwide coverage is available. However, claims or lawsuits must be brought into the U.S. in order to be submitted.

Yes, competitions are covered if the participants of the competition are the same as the participants stated on the application. So, you can attend competitions with your dance studio participants. But if you host the competition, and if the event is for outside participants (open to anyone who wants to participate), then there is no coverage in place. In order to cover outside participants, you will need to add the hosted competition coverage to your policy. An additional premium will apply.

Yes, coverage is included for recitals and off-site performances.

No. Anyone who rents your space will need their own insurance and name your studio as an additional insured.

No, we do not provide Worker’s Compensation. If you need workers’ comp, we suggest reaching out to a local agent in your area who specializes in workers comp, as they will know what is required for your state.

No, but they can be added back, on the application, for an additional premium.

You may cancel your policy by sending a request in writing via email, fax or mail. Please be sure to include the name of policyholder and certificate number. NOTE: Minimum premiums are fully earned at inception of the policy. Anything above the stated minimum premium may be pro-rated for a refund.

An additional insured is a third party entity that obtains protection through your policy for any negligent acts that arise while you are operating on their premise.

If someone was to get injured and sue, they will most likely name as many people or entities as possible in the lawsuit. So they will probably name you (their trainer) and the gym (or location of injury) in the suit.  If you named the gym as an additional insured, the gym will be protected under this policy assuming you were negligent.

You can add an Additional Insured when filling out the application or at any time after the policy is purchased.

Additional Insureds can be added at any time during the policy period. If you already have insurance and need to add Additional Insured, you can do so using the link provided to you with the policy documents.

Not unless you are purchasing coverage via the Aerial Yoga (link to Aerial Yoga page) insurance.

We are licensed in every state except Alaska and Nebraska. 


Please provide your best estimate at time of application. We will issue your policy at minimum premium and you may adjust the policy to add more participants at a later date.

Yes, we can provide a sample policy. When submitting your request, please provide the state you are in and the type of activity your policy will be covering.

Since Zumba Instructor certification is via a license, there is no number associated. So, when prompted to enter your certification number, simply enter 12345.

A minimum premium is the minimum amount that is required in order to bind coverage, only if rate calculations fall below the applicable minimum premium.


It depends on the policy you have. The application will inform you if there is a charge for additional insured certificates.
With one carrier, the first three (3) additional insureds can be added at no charge. After the first, three (3) additional insureds have been added, there will be a $10 charge for each additional insured certificate issued.

Payment options are available for the studio, gymnastics and health club insurance programs. Payment options will be provided during the application process.

Premium is due in full for all instructor policies.

Yes you can pay your finance schedule early.


All of our coverage programs expect for Aerial Yoga and Aerial Yoga Instructors can be quoted online. All you need to do is fill out the application and enter in the required information and a quote will be generated.

All policy cancellations must be made in writing. Please provide the requested effective date of cancellation and reason for canceling.

All minimum premiums are fully earned at policy inception. So what this means is that if you purchased a policy and you were at minimum premium of $490.00, and then closed the studio (or stopped instructing, etc.) and you no longer need the coverage, and requested to cancel the policy, the minimum premium of $490.00 will be fully earned and there will be NO refund. However, if you purchased a policy and say it was $1,000.00 and you cancelled the policy early, the minimum premium of $490.00 would be fully earned and then any unearned premium above the $490.00 would be refunded to you per the date you submit your written cancellation request.

The insurance can be effective immediately or at a future date.  You will be able to select the desired start date on the application.

The policy documents will be automatically issued and available to view, download, and print. One carrier will send you an email with all of the policy documents attached and another carrier will provide you with a confirmation number and online access to the policy documents.

No. You will need to renew the policy each year.

Renewal reminders will be emailed to you as your policy expiration date approaches. You will need to review the application to make sure it is current and submit payment. Most renewal applications will have the information pre-filled from last year, so all you need to do is review the information and submit payment. The payment information is not stored.

If your renewal application is not pre-filled, then you will be required to resubmit a new application and payment.

The policies we issue are non-renewing policies, therefore, the carriers require that we have updated information on file for every year that coverage is provided.


In order to make changes to your policy, we need your request in writing. You may send this to us via email. Please make sure to include the name of the policyholder, your policy number, certificate number, and specific details as to what needs to be changed on your policy.

If you need to file a claim, please contact us and we will send you the appropriate claim form.

Then, we will submit the claim for to the claim’s department and they will handle the claim from there. We do not handle claims in office.

Yes. All programs require that you have your participants sign a waiver prior to participation.
